we’re just 19 days and Counting until coach Kevin Sumlin and the you of a football team hit the field against BYU and the season opener and all eyes are on Khalil Tate a Heisman Trophy candidate and Wildcats quarterback hasn’t been made available to speak during fall practice that is until today here’s more on the awesome the amazing the great Tate I’m starting now you know and I know that so I think is something that you know I’m I’ve embraced embracing the leadership role is returning starting QB of course embracing the new head football coach Kevin Sumlin something he’s done from the onset as can be seen from the initial Twitter photo tape put up where he created a pic of coach someone patting him on the back of the helmet of course Khalil Tate in the U of a offense or still taking in the coach summoned ways as well or something I was still learning what we’re getting better each may be there meanwhile t talked publicly for the first time about landing on the cover of Sports Illustrated actually I didn’t tell my parents at all so when they came out it was my parents 25th anniversary so I think that’s something that you know there’s this guy and what an anniversary gift for his parents my dad was just excited you know here’s this like why didn’t you tell me I’m like I was trying to keep the secret and it just so happened to be their 25th anniversary coach Kevin Sumlin tells us he was also pretty excited about the Sports Illustrated cover for Tate and for the program as a whole it’s great exposure for the university you know I think you know anytime you have a player that’s that has something like that or is a National Award winner finalist yeah I’ve always looked at that we’ve always looked at it as as a team award it was these guys are proud of it they’d probably be on a team with a guy that wanted that kind of publicity
