>>Keep it going.>>There it is. Right there. Little throwback to 1991.>>Got the moves.>>When Tyra banks was in “Black or white” music video. Back to “Access live.”>>Tell us about that video. What do you remember the most about that?>>So, I remember all of us in a room. I was 17 years old. I hadn’t had a big push as model in Europe yet. I was a local high school school doing models. I was cast for this. Here are the dance moves. This is what you have to do. I’m in there for ten minutes. I’m like, I got soul. I got this. I walk out very cocky like I got then I get on set and I think the director was John Landis, legendary director. They turn up the music and I forget the moves. I just go — and then they kept it. So I got –>>Nailed it.>>For my bad behavior.>>Nailed it.>>So cute.>>Did you ever meet Michael then that time?>>Huh?>>Did you meet Michael?>>I went back to school that next day, I was like he was so amazing and hung out an we’re best friends. He wasn’t there. I said he was there.>>Did you ever meet him after>>Yes! Later I met him. I went to a concert of his in New York City. At Madison square garden.>>Wow.>>After I got to meet him in his dressing room. He was really sweet. It was funny because Michael Jackson, you know that voice and the interview. Talks like that. So his nephew was in the room throwing a bouncy ball with jacks, off the mirrors and on the ceiling and everywhere. Michael Jackson was like, you better stop throwing that ball. You better sit your butt down! I was like –>>Michael.>>Uncle Mike.>>Like a deep voice.>>You better sit your butt>>Sit your butt down.>>Gary, Indiana, came out.>>Tyra, what were you saying?>>Tyra, for you, talking about the ’90s. When did you know you had made it?>>I knew I’d made it when I had my first $5,000 check. My mom and I went to California pizza kitchen and bought every pizza and pasta, I’m like $5,000. At the time that’s when I thought I had made it. And then the big making it I think was being on the cover of “Sports illustrated” swimsuit edition and the first black mod toll do that.>>Let’s talk about that. You changed the face of the modeling industry in the ’90s.>>Literally.>>You were the star. You were everywhere. What was life like for Tyra banks in the ’90s?>>It was pretty surreal. When I look back, gosh, that was really major but living it I didn’t understand just how big everything was. I kind of think about like social media. Social media back then, I think I probably would have been the most — based on that moment. So I only am able to reflect back opposed to — you know what I mean? Think about it.>>And then acting, Tyra, fresh prince of Bel Air. Was that your first acting moment? What did it feel like being on set? Look at you.>>Yes! That was my very first acting job. I hadn’t done any acting before that and I auditioned for that and they said they were looking for someone to play Will Smith’s girlfriend on the show and she was a basketball player. I’m like, okay. I’ll dress like a basketball player. I dressed in big sweats, sweatshirt, a hoodie an I walk into the audition and they’re all women with little black dresses and high heels. And I’m like, oh my god. I made the biggest mistake. What am I doing here? I felt so out of place. I audition and then the casting director goes, can you come back in a couple of hours? I’m like, okay. I come back. Same clothes. I guess it worked. In the room is Will Smith. And they had me read with will Smith. And as I turn around and I’m walking out, will’s like, you got it. I was like — oh my god.>>See? We were rooting for you. We were all rooting for you! That’s awesome. I think that’s one of the things you always talk about mentors, a part of the shows. Staying true to what you know and believe because it will carry you through when the other stuff doesn’t.>>Exactly. And, you know, that was a big lesson for me. Diff different. I looked like a basketball player. She’s from philly, from the hood of philly. I represented that. And it worked. So yes. Following your gut. Being authentic. Not being afraid to stand out because I almost went home to get into a black dress for will. I was like, no. They liked this so let me just stay here.>>Perfect.>>What about agt? We have hung out backstage at agt. It is coming back this summer. Champions with Terry Cruz and see you come back this summer or what?>>I don’t know. I think I had a really nice run.>>Okay.>>With agt. I’m focusing on “Life size” and focusing on a lot of — I’m producing TV and I have a massive project starting next year. I’m not so sure.>>Okay.>>But if I don’t come back, I had a lot of fun.>>A massive project? Can you give us a hint?>>It is so massive. It is really making me look at everything I’m doing and saying, what can I peel off and not do and what can I truly focus on. I have a — coming out in the fall of next year. I want you guys there. At the opening. Never been done before.>>Tyra.>>Lean in a little bit.>>Just between us.>>Just us.>>Just us girls.>>And Scott.>>Slide in to my dm.>>I got you, boo!>>Just like MC hammer.>>Tyra, we love you. Have the best holiday with your son and your family.>>Thank you.>>Indeed. “Life size 2” premiers Sunday at 9:00 on frequent form.>>And Tyra raps in it.>>Yes, yes.>>Good.>>Stank face.
