Hello! Hey I’m Trooper Rummer with the state police
I got a little microphone… Nice to meet you! Gonna record our conversation ok Yes sir Reason I’m stopping you is cause you don’t
have any license plates on this car Ok… Any reason for that? I’m from Dubai, it’s my license plate right
there. Ok but you’re not in Dubai, you’re… I’m visiting as a tourist Well no you’re not visiting as a tourist if
you brought a car with you! Well… Do you have your drivers license with you? Yeah yeah of course How it works is we ship the cars we get a
permit and… You don’t have a permit! What you need is a Carnet… What’s that? A Carnet It’s a very rare thing I know you’re confused
but… NO I’M NOT CONFUSED! If you wanna drive this car.. you have to have
a license plate from somewhere in the United States or a trip permit, which you don’t have,
do you have your drivers license with you? Yes sir Yeah, the way it works is… We get a EPA exemption PARDON ME? A EPA exemption and then a Carnet De Passage DO YOU HAVE ANY OF THAT? Of course, yeah, yeah, I’m gonna provide everything… Do you have something that says you can drive
this car on the road? Yes sir Let’s take a look at that Of course So, it’s gonna be a lot of documents, I will
give you one by one… Cause I think what you’re talking about is
the ability to import this and what I’m talking about is registering it No no, well… Do you have your drivers license with you? Yeah, yeah, I’m just trying to answer your
questions Well, it’s a temporary thing, I’m visiting
as a tourist and.. I CAN’T HEAR YOU! It’s a temporary import… IT’S A WHAT? It’s a TEMPORARY import It’s not a permanent thing, we fly our cars
here, we do our trips and we fly them back that’s how it works I know it’s confusing but… NO IT’S NOT CONFUSING IT’S VERY SIMPLE ALRIGHT! No, no sir… If you have some sort of import, that that’s
to get it into the country, OK? I will… Let me see what you have that says you can
drive it in Oregon You will understand in a second… PARDON ME? You’re gonna understand in a second, I’m gonna
provide… I’m pretty sure I know what I’m talking about
right now So, this is my permit, it’s a international
federal agreement Ok And, I’m gonna provide you with drivers license
in a second DO YOU HAVE YOUR INSURANCE WITH YOU? Yes sir! So, this would be the international drivers
license which they come as a package there you go, the other part is inside it as well This would be the registration of the vehicle What is this? The registration of the vehicle OK What I need is, proof of insurance Sure This is So the… this is, this is CANADA? Ok, there you go! No, no sir, this is UAE I NEED YOUR INSURANCE Alright, why are you so defensive? I’m trying to… PARDON ME? Why are you so defensive? I’m trying to provide… NO, I’m just asking for these documents and
you won’t quit talking about other stuff No sir, I’ve provided you everything you’ve
asked for I WANT YOUR INSURANCE! OK? I’ve provided you… I DON’T NEED ANYTHING ELSE RIGHT NOW! Sure, sure, you just asked me for the documents
and… PARDON ME? You just asked for a document and I provided
you and I’m gonna provide you the insurance in a second sir Just give me a second… Why don’t you keep working on that and I’ll
be back with you in a minute Sure, sure WOW What’s wrong with this guy? He hasn’t even realized the steering wheel
yet… This is gonna be interesting… Did you find your insurance? Yes sir! There you go THIS IS NOT INSURANCE! Sir, in the bottom you can read it, it’s insurance,
the policy number is there as well… WHERE ARE YOU TAKING THIS CAR? I’m going to Canada Going where? I’m going to Canada, Vancouver Where did you import the car into? From Canada, I drove it in here I do a road trip every 2 years You do a WHAT trip? Sigh Imagine you want to drive your car in Europe,
what do you do? You ship your car there, you drive it for
a month and you ship it back… NO that’s not that’s not what I’d do ok look… You… What is your question officer, I can answer
your question… Look… Yes sir Here, here’s your stuff here… You gotta get a temporary permit, OK? I have another call I have to go to SIR… Be safe pulling out into the traffic It’s a federal law, you don’t know the law? What the… What just… I have another call that was priceless! Hahaha There he goes… He just gave up on life! You have to have a permit blaah blah here’s
your stuff! What did he even talk about! What was wrong with that guy!

  1. The cop is a complete and utter wanker. It's no surprise that many people have very little time for them. Being polite and having manners go a long way.

  2. Everyone is getting down on the officer for lack of knowledge when dealing with international matters. I’m sure he is feeling a bit of embarrassment. It’s not everyday simple Americans like ourselves have the luxury to fly our Lamborghinis all over the world so we can spend a few weeks on a little driving tour just for sake of doing it. I bet not one American who posted a comment would even know how to make sense of the documents he provided

  3. This arrogant fool got paid $104,504.00 in 2017 by the state of Oregon.

  4. The driver could not pick up direct driving licence and insurance. He dribble too much.. The police ask a simple thing.

  5. Why does the driver discuss with the policeman? give him the papers and everything is done.

The police officer wants to have the documents but instead the driver tells him stories.

  6. I like cops, but this policeman was in over his head. He seemed beligerent to start with. I'm sure the Dubai license plate on a Lamborghini just blew him away, and cops like to be in control. Kudos for being polite and respectful. This is how all drivers should be at a traffic stop.

  7. You didn't OWN him. He was unfamiliar (no surprise), and he clearly couldn't hear you well. People here don't travel to another continent with their cars, so he's not supposed to be an expert in everything. You seem like a good guy but the title is clickbait Nobody got owned.

  8. People import cars into Oregon for purchase all the time, even though they are not Oregon residents, to avoid paying sales taxes, which is illegal. It is not odd at all for cops to wonder what you are doing with an unregistered car.. All you had to say was "No I do not have the permit you are asking for." You don't need to offer unsolicited information because he wasn't ready for that yet. He needed your license and registration. He would find out soon enough that what he was saying did not pertain to you, just first things first and let him talk. Eventually he would ask you why you don't have a permit to which you can then say, because the department that issued me these documents assured me that this is all I need should I get stopped by police, and I believed them. Then he would continue to ask you questions until you got your story out. He's standing outside in traffic. He can't hear you, your car is packed with all kinds of crap I can't believe you can even see out of it well enough to drive safely. His life is at risk every second and he asked you for you license and insurance. Any sign of delay is going to piss him off. You took so long to get it and you wouldn't shut up even after it was very clear he didn't appreciate you trying to school him. Have you ever seen an undercover cop getting stopped by the police? They listen to everything the cop says, does everything that he asks and then when the cop is ready to listen, he'll ask him what's going on. He can either exercise his right to remain silent, or explain. He wouldn't sit there and say, "But you don't understand. This is a sting operation that not very many cops know about…etc. etc." Because he knows the right thing to do is to follow orders and wait until the cop is ready to listen to what you have to say. AND boy will he listen because he will have so much appreciated your complete cooperation, making it the best day in a long time. It is ALWAYS a good idea to make the cop as happy as possible. That's the breaks. You get yourself into odd circumstances, expect to be singled out. It's not a game. When you get the chance explain it to him as if you are giving him a recipe for doughnuts, not like a snarky douche. I can't believe how freaking long it took you to get the bleeping insurance proof to him. You responded like you were going to get a ticket before you had a chance to explain. You demanded control over the whole interaction when it was the officer's call and they have a very strict order in which to do business. Getting you identified and ensuring their safety is first. Once he knows generally who and what he's facing, and gets into a position that is safer and where he can hear better, he will invite you to give your explanation. Patience dude. Welcome to Oregon. America loves Canadians. Show some love to our hard working cops, especially when they are stuck on traffic duty. (You laughed at him, insinuated he was stupid and you accused him of being defensive. No. No. and NO). But I totally felt your pain there. It's just that being an observer (cause I think I would have copped the same attitude too) I can see how what you had to say did neither you nor the cop any good at that moment. Ego messes up too many otherwise pleasant situations. Ego and unnecessary panic. Cops can have that kind of effect on us. Hope all went well.

  9. That cop did not know the law. And that was a copout to make an excuse that there’s another call he wouldn’t do that if he knew he could give you a ticket. Next thing I always have paper license do not give him your phone he might use it to incriminate you.
    Great video

  10. when the cop checked in wonder what they said to him ? they never told him that in class or he fell asleep and not paying attention and he makes $100.000.00 a year how do I get a job like the driver

  11. Dude the guy was talking about shipping a Lambo from a country to another country and crossing borders and oceans with a Lambo from Dubai e etc…..!!!! The cop was trying to understand everything with his humble and narrow mind rarararar…..Hilarious !!!!

  12. Wow. What an arrogant Police man… realised he was completely wrong and couldn't handle his ego being bruised so disappeared as quickly as possible! A* dick award goes to him!

  13. A cop who works on the roads and don't understand the word road trip….. that's why he is sure to not go to Europe with his car.
I spend the last 10 years with my " car " ( Unimog expedition truck ) on East- and South European roads and I have seen a lot of policars and road controles…. but when I'm stopt for the whole procedure it's always by a stupid one…. once on the border with Ukraine one asked what that valve was under the truck, so I opend the valve of the toilet tank and then he saw on his shoes what the perpose was of that thing. An other one did'nt believe that there was nothing in the walls of the living space then insulation foam, because it did'nt sounded solid when he knockt on it…. at an other occasion, a guy didn't believe that there was an airvent space under the matras in front above the cabin… much space to put ciggarets and alcohol… he could not lift the matras enough to see under it…. whent outsite too look and inside again…. he needed two collegas to pull him out of the truck because he was not capable for reason and steared angry at me when I finaly left…. I saw " bey, bey promotion " in his eyes….. In Germany I was once stopt on the highway on a Sunday, two Laural and Hardy types wanted 150 € for driving on a Sunday with my combination. It costed me two months of emailing to get my money back, after studying the German laws in German language…. There comander's name was Noth and I wrote all the time Nothing to the guy and thing's I remembered that he wanted to forget…. the 40-45 storry…. as all Germans. In Poland I was puled over for " speeding " in the midst of a trail of trucks and cars on a road up, I could pass nobody and nobody me. The young cop showed a speedgun with 75 km/h on it. I advised him to trow that thing away as a piece of rubbisch. He insisted, I came out my cabin, and handed him the keys to try to do that speed with my truck on that road. He told me to go back in. I have given him the demanded documents with the warning that I would find somebody with autorety to try it. He went to a patrol car a bit further….and an older cop came to bring my documents back and told my Polish speaking guide, passing me if I was air, that it was not polite to bang the door of my truck when I went back in it. The road was mine again….an other Polish moment I was stopt to controle my documents, the cop whent in his vehicle and I waited…. and waited….and waited. Then I went out to that car and two policeman where sitting in the frontseats staring in the police nowhere in front of them. I knocked on the window, that came down and I excused myself with telling them that I tought that they had falling asleep….. no, waiting for a phonecall……On the Ukraine border to leave that nice country ( realy nice, honest ) I was in a queu of kilometers and nothing moved for houres, cars where passing on the wrong side of the road…. At a surten moment I had enough of it and against the advice of my guide that I would make things worse, I took my bycicle of the back of the truck and pedaled direction frontline. There I shouted at every uniform if one was speaking English. One soldier with an automatic wapen over his shoulder did. I asked him if there was some stricke going on. He asked how much people in my car… two….bring your car here. Me, back where I came from, bycicle back up, my guide nervous next to me….. to that soldier on the border…. he did'nt came in or what ever and twenty minutes later I was in Poland. My experiences over the years, if one drives not a normal car, one atracts nice people for a talk and a picture and stupid officials for what ever other reasons. Ah…. in ' 85 and '68 I visited Hungary, still under, a milder, comunist system as part of the USSR. Again, a verry beautifull country for nature lovers and friendly population. I was there with a woman who wanted to buy some clothing, I could not park my mobilhome , so I waited out of everybody's way, whyle she went around a corner, out of sight. At a surten moment two policeman ask me to leave…. I try to explane that it is imposible…without my compagnion….deff or so, not understanding, the same movements and handgesters…. I take the keys, grab my pasport, give that to one of them and leave in the directions where I think she went, after five minutes or so, we are back on my transport. The two policeman are still standing at the same place in the same position with one my pasport in hand. I take it, great them and I leave, whyle I see in my miror looking them at each other and back to my vehicle…. In those day's there where soldiers, young guy's in a boot, longside roads everywhere. Not much vehicles … so when they saw something comming they went to the midlle of the road to stop one…. then they saw the outside-country licence plates and whent of the road,….. I slowed down , whyle they made go-on gesters, because only speaking Magiar….and I stoped politely….. to have some converstion with a red-headed fresh one…. My impressiion is, if policeman all over the world would do the same effords everywhere else as they do on the roads, the world would be a much safer place.

  14. Now consider this … That cop is still one of the smarter ones… Maybe his IQ is just above normal… Imagine being pulled
over by one of his less intelligent colleagues with an IQ somewere between Forest Gump and the Three Stooges. Oh that would
be a nice vid on youtube 🙂

  15. the cop was arrogant and a jackass, but how many people here have heard of this law before? and how often do you think the average cop runs into this law? i'd say pretty close to 0% so the fact that the cop didnt know the law offhand isnt so weird, its the way he handled it, one of the things his dashboard computer can do is look up the laws

  16. I have no idea if you're in the right here or not, never looked at your documents..ya know. However, I can say that level of arrogance is why cops are so defensive when conducting every day traffic stops! Asshole!

  17. Damn I just got pulled over by an oregon state trooper on the way to work in Albany because I forgot to renew my expired tags (whoops) but he was totally cool with it and just let me off with a warning. I'm glad this guy wasn't the one who pulled me over lol

  18. Welcome to the good ol USA, where the cops think they're God and know more than lawyers much less anyone else when they don't, and when called out on something they get pissed and stomp off mad, especially if you're brown or black skinned, lucky you didn't get arrested or shot making him feel uneducated on the very laws he's supposed to

  19. The cop is not smart and the Lamborghini cool owner guy is very smart this shows how dumb American Are and shows how r
Dumb they are tot the rest of the world

  20. You should have asked for his name and reported his erratic behavior to the police department ?. How did you keep your cool , kudos to you sir

  21. He knows the law , he sez he knows the law …..really. so what does the paper say …the term educated comes firmly to mind

  22. You've got the money to fly in your Lambo yet don't get a temporary permit in advance because you want to get pulled over to waste officer's time just so you can be a douchebag. Was there something I missed?

  23. Oh its a oregon state trooper…oregon cops in general are fucking idiots…especially washington county. Stuck up pos

  24. Sorry you had do deal with that bud. Not all of us are assholes like him. I would of loved to have pulled you over, not only to see your car close up, but to also gain knowledge on how that situation works like this ass hat should have done.

  25. I can legally drive in the us with my Canadian plates. Cop is confused. As soon as he realized he didn't know for sure, he got another call. What a coincidence

  26. Driver very calm, cooperative, & determine to get his facts handed over to the “mean” policemen. Driver still kept his cool, and took his steering wheel off and put it back on. ?

  27. Dickhead cop talks to people like he is above us all. Not surprising. Props to the driver for knowing his shit and staying frosty.

  28. You are lucky you speak good english and are not dark skinned. Both of which are crimes in this cops land. I have had the misfortune to get noticed by these types more than once.
Clearly you survived and were not locked up. Good for you. This egomaniac cop is as common as muck and I have no doubt he would have made you suffer if he wasn't called to shoot at someone.
    Thanks for posting.

  29. It's those hats, as soon as it touches their head it makes them arrogant buffoons. He got schooled and drove off with his tail between his legs.

  30. What a dumbass cop and he still walked away acting like he knew he knew what he was talking about what an idiot ,they just got to be right no matter what .totally self-centered

  31. I’m truly ashamed of treatment towards you! I didn’t fight for this country to protect bad cops. Very sorry.

  32. I cant believe this police officer doesn't know what an international driver license is. I would have assumed that is part of his training. International driver license is printed in multiple languages.

  33. Cop: Europe? WTF that's in Texas son! Your in Oregon and in Oregon we drive with insurance now where is your insurance, because this is not your insurance here I know what I'm taking about I AM THE LAW!!!!!! (as cape blows in the wind)

  34. I import export many vehicles to Europe. You need to have an affixed liscence plate . As in your home country . In e a u they have affixed plates. This is not a diplomatic immunity case . Like the cars I see in Geneva. Wich have plates . This guys jerking the law . Just because you temporarily import a vehicle with a carnet. Doesn’t mean you don’t have to conform to the country you import too. The law In the us is you need an affixed plate therefore. . You must conform to this …period. If in Canada they pass it though customs and have a certain law about it that’s fine . But not The USA.
