  1. Hakeem wouldn't did shit to Jordan; he had 6 tries just like everybody else did. He couldn't beat Charles Barkley and Drexler so how the hell he was going to beat Jordan. You'll love fucking attendion think about what you are saying before you post. Who get six rings while Hakeem was in the league, so what are you saying, and the only reason Hakeem get two was because of Jordan's retirement.

  2. I HAVE A THEORY, I THINK THE NBA PURPOSELY KEPT THE DREAM FROM MEETING MICHEAL IN THE FINALS, AS SOON AS MICHEAL RETIRED, AND HE WENT TO BASEBALL, THE NBA FOCUS ON THE DREAM, AND HE GOES TO THE FINALS IN THE WEST,THIS IS VERY WEIRD TO ME, THE NBA MARKETED AND MILKED JORDAN INTO THE NEW ERA. WHEN I HEARD JORDAN SAY OUT HIS MOUTH, ITS A GOOD THING THE ROCKETS WILL NEVER COME OUT THE WEST, CAUSE THEY HAVE NO ANSWER FOR THE DREAM, YOU GOTTA ASK YOURSELF, HOW THE HELL DID YOU KNOW MICHEAL THE ROCKETS WOULD NEVER COME OUT THE WEST? ALL FACTS JORDAN ADMIRED THE DREAM, THE DREAM IN HIS PRIME WAS IN THE TOP 10 IN 5 CATEGORIES, THATS AMAZING, NOT MENTION HE HAD A QUADRUPLE DOUBLE 1 OR 2 TIMES, ONE OF FEW PLAYERS TO HAVE 200 BLOCKS AND 100 STEALS IN A SEASON, HE IS ARGUABLY THE GREATEST CENTER EVER. I DO REMEMBER THE ROCKETS HAD THE BULLS NUMBER ALL THE TIME, AND MICHEAL KNEW THIS, I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN, ITS DEEPER THAN BASKETBALL, THERE IS SHIT GOING ON THAT THEY HIDE OR EDIT OUT, THEY SIMPLY DONT WANT US TO KNOW. BUT IN MY OPINON I THINK THE NBA KEPT THE DREAM FROM MEETING MICHEAL IN THE FINALS, CAUSE THEY KNEW IT WOULD HURT MICHEALS LEGEND STATUS, YOU CAN ALSO ARGUABLY SAY THE DREAM WAS JUST AS UNGUARDABLE AS MICHEAL WAS, FANS WILL COME IN HERE READ MY COMMENTS AND DEFEND MICHEAL, IM KOOL WITH THAT, BUT ITS VERY WEIRD, THAT MICHEAL PLAYED A BUM ASS UTAH JAZZ BACK TO BACK IN THE FINALS THAT WASNT BETTER THAN THE ROCKETS

  3. it's really strange that they didn't meet in the finals all those years. well atleast the first 3 years the bulls won, because the last three really Hakeem didn't have a chance he was injured allot and he really didn't have the same team he had when he actually won. it definitely would have been a 7 game series, probably the best finals series ever. it was unfortunate to us fans that never happened. the 2 best players in the league going at it.

  4. >Look in the comments
    >People not understanding what a match-up nightmare is.

Sasuga, Jordan Airheads. I think he's the greatest of all time, but the sheer vitriol at the idea that certain players could touch him is almost amusing. Guys, seriously; come on. He's a great player, but he's hardly untouchable. Stop putting him on a pedestal and have yourselves open to conversation, you psychos.

  5. Hakeem had a chance since he came to the league to meet MJ in the playoff or even meet MJ in the championship but sadly they haven't. So to say Hakeem can beat MJ in the playoff is impossible and its not going to happen ever. Hakeem finaly had his 2 championship because MJ retired, period.

  6. Phil Jackson will outmatch Rudy T
    MJ well…
    Pippen over Horry
Kerr, Kukoc and BJ over the weak Rockets bech
Grant was an all star in 94 > Thorpe
Only Hakeem will win againt any center
    Math…. well Bulls in 6

  7. Hakeem is maybe top 10 all time for me, no doubt he was awesome! I laugh when people say LBJ can defend all 5 – imagine him trying defend The Dream!!! Or better still imagine him trying to score on Hakeem without a 3 sec defensive rule!!! Hakeem did challenge MJ a few times – I saw the games!! – but overall MJ was a better player, anyone who says otherwise is just hating, even Hakeem says MJ is the best.

  8. Hahaha, funny…
He had his chances, for the first time but it didn't workout…
He only won when MJ retires. The time MJ came back to the game, his 2nd chance came around but he did nothing. So how can he beat or destroy MJ?

  9. The only Years the Rockets won the nba Championships in the 90s were when MJ was not playing in 1994 and when MJ who came back after 1.5 year absence didnt make it to the Finals with a much different Bulls team.
Lets not forget that the Rockets won the 1994 finals by a margin in 7 games.
If Hakeem was better than MJ the Rockets should have been more frequent in the finals.

  10. there is always haters from moslem.. they claim Jerusalem and now they wanna claim river Jordan i mean M.J'$ legacy by an Akeem the Islamic Olajuwon boko haram

  11. jordan respects olajuwan as a great player and olajuwan also respects Jordan's greatness also they had mutual respect go watch what olajuwan says about jordan

  12. Man please. I was old enough to watch both of them play as rookies and until they retired.

We know who the Goat is. Olajuwon is an all-time great though!

  13. I think the Bulls woudve lost the 1994 finals if MJ didnt retire. four straight is draining, it would be herculean to still win it against a prime Hakeem and a peaking rockets team. But 1995 would've been a toss up.

  14. Easily the best C I ever saw, but no way. Still, would have been the best finals since LA vs Boston.

  15. The Knicks took them to 7 games in 94. John Starks went something like 1-21 and they still were right there. People always have short memories. The Bulls would have 4 peated. Absolutely ridiculous argument.

  16. not the 96 bulls but they would've made it tough for 91-93 would've been interesting to see… its all a big what if… and i would never take anything away from this houston saying bulls would've got 8 if MJ didnt retire… we'll never know

  17. The Rockets (Thorpe/Maxwell version not the Drexler one) were the Knicks with a more athletic frontcourt and sharpshooters. Come on now their Horry was a 6-10 3 point shooter he was a matchup problem for every SF not just Pippen. The Rockets with Drexler would've been a better matchup for them considering both teams lost their PF that year.

  18. Sports Illustrated notes that the Bulls went a combined 3-7 against the Rockets in Jordan’s first three title seasons and the two non-Jordan seasons (his Airness pulled off his “I’m Back” return very late in the 1995 season). Michael Jordan could not have beaten Hakeem Olajuwon in those two seasons either. The Dream truly was the most devastating force in the NBA during that window. Jumpman no matter.

  19. 4 block on mj lol show Kevin Johnson dunking on Hakeem head! Mike played in the era of the center hakeem david Robinson Patrick ewing wouldn't have mattered

  20. 94-95 Rockets in 7
The Bulls couldn't even guard Otis Thorpe, not to mention Dream. Rockets loaded at guard would throw every one of them at MJ. Rockets in 7

95-96 coinflip. Losing Thorpe for Drexler wasn't bad, but the Rockets were already loaded at guard. Maxwell and Cassell got less minutes and Drexler took more shots. BUT, BUT… the Rockets had both Drexler and Maxwell to guard MJ. Coinflip

96-97 Bulls in 4. bulls add toni kucoc, Rodman, Luc Longley. Rockets trade horry and cassell for Barkley. Lose maxwell. Rockets didn't even make the finals. Bulls in 4

  21. I think people don’t fully understand how good Hakeem really was, crazy good scorer, good shooter, awesome footwork, leading the nba in blocks and one of the few centers at the time that could hit free throws

  22. Imagine if olajuwon played under phil jackson in the east. Even jordan admitted that it was good that olajuwon rockets could not get out of west during his time. Jordan is the greatest shooting guard because of weak east and phil jackson. Some are saying that lebron lost against poppovich duncan spurs as if poppovich is nothing. Look at spurs now still winning without duncan. Jordan an kobe has phil jackson and duncan has poppovich.

  24. Scottie Pippen could crush Olajuwon you mean? Scottie crushed the knicks in game 6. But got cheated. Rockets almost lost to knicks in game 7. Let alone MJ plays with the bulls. Scottie was the MVP of the east robinson, hakeem, pippen in vote. Make no mistake, MJ and scottie were co-MVP.

  25. Would have gone 7 games each time between the Bulls and Rockets. I think they go 1-1. The teams matched up well. However, the Bulls has NO answer for Hakeem. In the 6 finals the Bulls where in, they other team didn’t have a game changing force of a big man like a Hakeem. From the Lakers-The Jazz, none of those teams had a dominant big man. This wasn’t the difference. It was the collection of talent around Hakeem and Hakeem himself that was the difference maker. MJ got past Shaq and Ewing, but Houston’s style, collection of players and the unique skillset of Hakeem would have given Houston a good chance to get past the Bulls. A 94’ series would have been Epic!

  26. This matchup might have changed history. Because if the Rockets beat the Bulls in 94’ the Bulls might have had to go looking for a big man to counteract Hakeem. Instead of picking up Rodman, maybe they go for a talented big man, and you don’t have the second 3-peat. They probably still pickup Rodman to make up for Grants departure as they realized they needed a strong power forward after losing to the Magic. They did have Cartwright at one point, so they knew how to play with a Bigman in the middle, so I think maybe the Bulls lose one series to the Rockets, recalibrate with a talented bigman, pickup Rodman and win 7 champions rather then 6. This is of course factoring in Jordan never retiring.

  27. The key in the video when Hakeem was blocking him. No goal tend called, no foul called. It wasn’t that he was able to stop Jordan. In known of these videos is it ever Jordan going one on one with Hakeem, it’s 3 guys including Hakeem in Jordan’s face where Jordan gets over the other 2 guys and as his ball is dropping hakeem is the last to jump and then block a shot that should have been called for goal tending and yet despite thoughts calls not being made that doesn’t stop Jordan from being Jordan and still attempting the shot.

  28. Everyone views the Rockets 2 championships as having asterisks attached to them. the only reason they have those 2 rings is because Mike was shagging fly balls in birmingham. No mid-career Jordan retirement = no championships for the Rockets. This is how everyone outside Houston views those two token championships.

  29. This game is about matchup. Rockets in the 80s were a nightmare for Showtime due to hakeem youth vs jabbar and no pf to bang with jabbar. Sampson ate green and ram is alive. Now what do you think hakeem does to Cartwright…perdue…and Stacey king? Lmfao!! Unlike Ewing hakeem thrives in the playoffs and the clutch. Eating teams Alive. He matches Jordan's intensity. Scottie if you play him physical gets completly off his game. He's easy to rattle. You take Scottie out if his game the bulls are finished. Maxwell and Clyde can stay with mj. Smith and cassell torch bj and paxson. Horry can run with Scottie. Ellie can to. But…the x Factor…hakeem. No easy buckets like bulls centers rolling to the rim after mj penetrates. Hakeem shuts that down. Just watch their games on YouTube. Hakeem destroyed them. Their benches are equal to. If no one can get going in the post the bulls triangle is finished. Game over

  30. I think Rockets vs Bulls would have been a 6 game series… possibly 7 but I am never betting against Jordan. It depends on which 3 peat team you're talking about. The first 3 peat team BEAT the Knicks in 6 games in '93. That same Knicks team lost to the Rockets in 7 games in '94. I would give Jordan and the Bulls that edge… But the 2nd 3 peat team, would kill the Rockets for sure. Not taking anything away from Hakeem. One of my top centers of all time no doubt (top 2 or 3)… But as in the words of Gary Payton, "Jordan just did it."
