Sport Clips – Haircuts with Heart 2018

(inspiring piano music) – [Narrator] Haircuts
with Heart goes far beyond a fresh cut, trimmed beard,
or even an MVP experience. Instead, it brings us
together to help those who need it most. Whether we’re working with our
national charitable partners, making a difference in our communities, or taking care of one
of our own team members, Haircuts with Heart makes it possible, and when we give back to others, we receive so much more in return. Now, let’s reflect on the lives
we impacted this past year. – Molly has a very dynamic personality. She’s a very busy, happy little girl, who takes great joy in
the small things in life. Molly is really fatigued
before a transfusion. She knows it’s time to get her blood, that her body needs it, and
then, after her transfusion, another kid comes out. – When I get my new blood, I feel better. – American Red Cross has
been phenomenal for us. It’s taken one of the
fights in my life away. I know what her life would
be without blood donations. She wouldn’t live. – [Jason] As Sport Clips team leaders and supporters of St.
Baldrick’s, I shave my head for every super kid
thriving against the odds. As a business owner, it is
an incredible opportunity to raise money for this organization. As a team, we understand
the importance of this event and what it means to everybody involved. We start the planning process each year. It’s all hands on deck. My team and I are excited to
watch the event come together and see how much money we
can raise for the cause. I am just so grateful for
all the support they provide. – [Narrator] U.S. Army Private
First Class Michael DeMatteis served under General
Patton for three years during World War II in
France and Normandy. In November, he was part of the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation’s 3000th flight in Georgetown, Texas. – I was the second one to fly, so I thought it was very nice. Everything was open air. You kind of looked at Georgetown
from a different angle. – [Narrator] Thanks to your efforts, we’re able to honor senior
veterans like Mr. DeMatteis with flights of a lifetime. – So, when I first heard
about the scholarship, I started applying, and
it was really in a time of financial hardship for me. You know, I have two daughters and a wife, and it was extremely
hard to go back to school for my undergrad degree in pre-med, because I was studying in the
library til 10, 11 at night, and it was very hard for
me to be able to work and make money for my family. I was at a point where I was actually thinking about quitting school, and this scholarship really pulled me out of that financial hardship. I’d really like to thank
the VFW and Sport Clips for this scholarship program, and to making my life
easier while I’m in school. – [Brittany] Help a
Hero is important to me for many reasons. I fully believe that
those who make the choice to protect and serve our country should be assisted in the pursuit of their own hopes and
dreams upon returning home. After brainstorming ways to
raise money for these heroes, we decided that a golf
tournament would be perfect. The turnout was phenomenal. The whole sponsors came rolling in, and all the attendees
enjoyed Help a Hero raffle, bake sale, and lunch. It was a great success
for an even better cause. Our shop has a huge military clientele, not to mention all of
our friends and family who are actively serving or
retired military veterans. With these funds, our heroes
can chase their dreams the same way they allow us
to chase ours every day. (inspiring pop music) – [Brittany] In 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma
bone marrow and spleen cancer. As a single mother of four, I was scared, not just for my life, but
for the financial stability of my children and me. With the help of Sport
Clips and my family at work, I was able to receive financial support through the Sport Clips Wayne
McGlone Memorial Relief Fund. The day the letter arrived in the mail, I was overwhelmed with gratitude at the thought that there
was still a company out there that really cared for the
well-being of their employees. Thank you so much, Sport Clips, for all of your help and support during these challenging times. I don’t know where I would be without you. – We lived here in
Houston only four years, and we have no family here,
and the rains came down, and when we sat there,
watching the water rise, and I knew that everything we had that was inside our apartment was lost. We evacuated with just a few blankets, our dogs, the backpacks
that we had grabbed, and when I reached out
to my Sport Clips team, asking if someone could come get us, my area manager said, “Get on that boat. “I’m on my way.” And then, a message appeared
on my phone from my team leader and it read Sport Clips
is going to help you, and that’s when you realize
that, at Sport Clips, we are not just a team, we’re family, so thank you, Sport
Clips, for all your help. – [Narrator] We couldn’t
do any of this without you, our wonderful, amazing team members. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to helping others. We’re known for giving guys
a great haircut experience, but because of you, many
grateful people also know us for giving Haircuts with Heart.
