Sesame Street: How to be a Good Sport (Training Sequence)

TELLY: Yeah, yeah. Some might say I’m even
a hot potato expert. ELMO: Well, Telly’s got to teach
Elmo how he does it. Please, please, please, Telly,
please, please, please? TELLY: Teach you my secret
hot potato tricks? My secret hot potato tips? ELMO: Yes, yes, Telly’s the only
one that can help Elmo. TELLY: All right. All right. I’ll train you. But it won’t be easy. It’ll take hard work. It’ll take patience. But most of all, it’ll
take a potato. ELMO: Oh, OK. [DRUM ROLL] Got one. TELLY: Well, what are
we waiting for? Let’s train. [MUSIC–“EYE OF THE POTATO”] It’s the eye of the potato,
it’s the part that grows. Must dig deep, like you’re
digging a potato. And if you work, and
you practice, then the world will know. Your skill’s growing
and growing like the eye of the potato. TELLY: Well, Elmo, I’ve taught
you everything I know about hot potato. The rest is up to you. ELMO: Does Telly think Elmo has
what it takes to be the hot potato winner? TELLY: There’s only one
way to find out, and here’s your chance. ELMO: Abby, Abby, Abby! Hey, want to play hot
potato again ? ABBY: Oh, I don’t know, Elmo. You get really upset
when you lose. ELMO: But Elmo’s not going
to lose this time. Elmo’s got the eye
of the potato. ABBY: Well, all right, but just remember, it’s only a game. ELMO: Yeah, yeah,
yeah, whatever. Let’s play!

  1. Nicely done. 🙂

Love how Elmo is sure he'll win, and he doesn't like losing… Teaches kids something about fair play, doesn't it ? :/

  2. I think we need to share this video across social media because the aftermath of this election shows that we all need to go back to pre school and remember how to be a gracious winner/loser.

  3. boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  4. at 0:32 you can clearly see the guy on the right not even try to hide the fact that he is breaking the 4th wall and looking at the camera. For a show as influential and long lasting as this, I would expect better acting. smh
