Rio 2016: Men’s Marathon kicks off last day of 2016 Olympics

Good evening, I’m Kwon Jang-ho, here to bring
you the latest from Rio. It’s the final day of the 2016 Olympics, and
the last 12 gold medals are on the line. One of them is being contested right now. Just over half an hour ago the men’s marathon
runners set off on their 42-kilometer battle, in what’s turning out to be a rather wet day
in Rio. Kenya’s Jemima Sumgong won gold in the women’s
race last week, and fellow Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge is odds-on favourite to follow suit. After that there are various finals taking
place, such as the basketball, volleyball and boxing, before this year’s proceedings
wrap up with the closing ceremony at 8pm local Brazil time.
