President Trump links video games to mass shootings, explained | Just The FAQs

President Trump believes video games glorify and contribute to
the culture of violence that leads to mass shootings in America. “We must stop the glorification
of violence in our society. This includes the gruesome
and grisly video games that are now commonplace.” The idea that video games incite violence has been around for decades, but a connection between video
games and real-life violence has never been meaningfully established. “To look at violent video games, in my opinion, is a red herring. It’s not gonna lead to anything helpful in regards to gun violence.” In fact, many other countries with access to the same video games have lower murder rates than America. The truth about gun violence in the U.S. is that there are many
contributing factors. And clearly, more work needs to be done to solve this urgent American problem. “Let us come together as a
community as we work to heal.”

  1. Horse shit! Pharmaceutical companies are responsible, religious idiots, religious propaganda, corporate greed, and corrupt authorities are the ones responsible!

  2. Here in Europe we play the same video games. The difference is that we cannot buy weapons on every street corner. So we don't have mass shootings. Away with the NRA, that's the only solution to this US problem.

  3. People just need to be responsible for the people the make and know. Parents need to be held more accountable for their kid's actions.

  4. Sigh…it is not the games it is the isolation and condemnation that young WHITE BOYS have to deal with on a daily basis…

  8. If you remove illegal immigrant and minority crime…the U.S. becomes THE safest place on earth per cap…think about that for a second….

  9. So many first person video game players don't shoot people is the argument? 99,990,000 gun owners in the U.S. don't either.

  10. When need to show some responsibility as a country and stop electing boomers into office. They don't even know what planet they live on anymore.

  11. But the movies and TV shows are ok? The fake guns are worse than the real ones? It's not the climate of racism, evil, and greed? It's almost 2020… and we're still dealing with racists and "video games cause violence" like it's 1994…….. or 1954 (just substitute rock & roll for video games).

  12. Facts: video games have not been proven to be linked with violence and millions of people who play them and aren’t violent. Guns are also not the problem, 300 mil guns in the United States and 325 mil people, 26,000 gun deaths a year including suicides versus 500,000 to 1 mil lives saved due to defensive use with guns. Stop being sheep and go research

  13. The media only showing us hate and violence while only giving a 30 second spot to an uplifting video is more of a contributor than video games. Gtfoh

  14. It's not the guns, it's not the tv, it's not the games. Its this nation that calls for the removal of 10 commandments.

It's this nation that has no problem with killing babies while they're still in the womb.

It's this nation that dedicates a whole month to celebrate sodomy.

    Last but not least..

It's this nation that has rejected the Lord:

    Proverbs 1:29-31
"For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:"
"They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof."
"Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices."

  15. Sooooo… can't be racism or just the government…its gotta be GTA or PUBG…gotcha…I realise something…there's always someone crazier than me….starting with the researcher and Trump.

  16. Blaming it on videogames is a sad excuse to avoid looking at the legitimate actors who actually do play a crucial role in normalizing gun use on other people.

  17. Playing cowboys and Indians as a kid also made me want to run around with a tomahawk and scalp everyone. Chiefs right, ban video games. #nomorehammerbros #nomoresplatoons #nomorecreepers

  22. So what, you're gonna ban military now? Cause we're gonna need that and we wanna watch action movies and horror movies.

  23. Just because I play siege for 2 hours most days doesn't mean I'm gonna walk in with an M4A1 on the first day of school. America is just messed up, Mr. President. I wish he could understand that.

  24. I’ve grown up in a house with guns and video games. I play many of the games that people blame for these mass shootings but never once got a desire to harm another soul. I’m not the only one who feels this way. To me it is a lack of education of gun safety and a inability to parent and offer support to the young minds that are growing up to do these evil deeds. If anything in society is causing it it has to be the media. Just look at the New axel and shooting and the shooter detailing in his manifesto how the things he says and does will be blown up by the media. Instead of glorifying him and putting his face and name into the world we need to decipher what is more important, clicks and revenue, or the right thing

  25. If he bans violent games, I’m mad, if he bans Minecraft, hmmmm….

  26. President Trump links Fortnite to property damage and excessive building of unstable structures.
