  1. TBH I don't know why we can't just have an ad that says everyone is amazing and crazy because everyone is differnt and are better at certain things than others, how about instead of preaching one sex (this also applies for male ads btw) why can't we just celebrate the achievements that everyone has made for example people trying out in the Paralympics (and also that the Paralympics even exist), how female football has massively been increasing in popularity in the past 20 years, and how men like Usain bolt are record breakers.
I am a man and I am a keen long distance runner and from the UK and I'm inspired by Mo Farah and not because he's black (or BAME how the BBC likes to call it now 🙄) or that he's a good role model for people of colour or minorities, no it's because he's one hell of a good runner and down to earth and a generally light hearted personl, I think people are paying more attention to an athletes, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion etc but aren't actually paying attention to the important part, which is their performance.

  19. I love how all of you are mad because of Nike sweatshops and child labor and how wrong it is but I bet you have bought plenty of Nike products. The consumer feeds the unjust

Also the kids in third world country’s have nothing so If Nike didn’t give them a job they would find other it may seem or look harsh but this kids need jobs because there parents aren’t able to work or don’t make enough for the family so the kids need to work. All of you people trying to end child labor will lead to many kids and family’s die of starvation and have no shelter so please stop

  20. Being a woman in 2019 is amazing and I'm profoundly thankful for every woman that came before me who paved the way for my freedom and autonomy…but this does not mean that we have to compete with men, it does not mean that we are in competition with men, and it does not mean than men should be stomped on simply for being men (aka, the physically stronger, possibly more overtly sexual sex).

Women can do everything a man can do…but do we really want to? Men can do everything that a woman can do besides carrying children…but if they could, would they really want to? Each sex has their strengths. There is serious strength in embracing femininity and womanhood…and there is nothing wrong with a woman who wants to kick ass on the track or a woman who wants to forego the track and have 6 children.

What we need to be asking ourselves now is, "What kind of man/partner do I want to align myself with?" No man? Sperm donor? Husband? Partner? More women throughout history have had their lives devastated by a man than the other way around. Rather than being in competition with men, I say we start figuring out how to include them and teach them to be what we need rather than this mainstream attempt to dominate them or shame them…this has been the missing piece of the puzzle.

  21. Sorry this is a bit off topic but why isn’t volleyball in any Nike commercials if I’m wrong please tell me. I feel Volleyball gets a rep as being easy maybe it isn’t the hardest but it’s still hard we train hard too and I am I just imagining this

  22. Equal opportunity? Where did that get you? You can’t even beat a guy ranked 200, and you want equal opportunity? Puhleese!!!!

  23. The Romans killed Boudicca's husband, raped her daughters in britain. Around 60AD she then led an army against them, until her army was cornered, massacred and Boudicca poisoned herself to escape capture.

  24. There is this brand called U&M Apparel which is looking to tackle hate and discrimination and it's something i'd love to back and represent and i've pretty much made it a must for me to share their mission; https://uandm-apparel.com/blogs/our-story/u-ms-story

  25. what does promoting the hijab have to do with women's issues? The fact that women wear it? Only Muslim women tho. Anyone taking issue with it is doing so more for the fact that she's Muslim. Why is it being treated like a woman's breakthrough?

  26. Women who play male dominated sports are definitely crazy and accomplishing something in it doesn’t change who they are as people. It’s no accident that a good chunk of well known WNBA players are lesbian. These women don’t know how to be proper women.

  27. RANT TIME! HALLELUJAH!

Ok so I've seen this video being shared and making the rounds on social media, as I'm sure many of you have, maybe you've even shared it yourself. I just have to talk about it, even if nobody reads this, just for my own sanity.

On the surface, a strong and empowering message for women right? Except whilst watching it the all too familiar stench of bullshit slithered up my larger-than-average nostrils and I took a big, deep whiff. Here we go:

    – If we show emotion, we're called dramatic: Yes and so are men, don't act as though this is a women's only issue. In fact I would go as far to say that men are much more likely to be criticised or made fun of for crying or being upset. Already off to a strong start!

    – If we want to play against men, we're nuts: Ok, this is going to upset a few people (mainly the ones who don't like facts) but… there is a reason why we have male/female segregation in the vast majority of sports. Men in most cases have a genetic physical advantage over women (muscle mass, bone density, power, speed, stamina etc.) which means we tend to play sports at different levels. So to put it simply if women want to compete against men in sports they're not nuts, but they are going to get their asses handed to them in most cases. I thought this stuff was common knowledge but apparently Nike doesn't think so…

    – If we dream of equal opportunity, delusional: Right I want to start here by stating (just in case anyone misinterprets my sentiments toward the subject) that I am 100% behind equal opportunity for women and men. If I ever have children I want my potential daughter to be able to go for whatever sport/career she wants in life. Now that I got that out of the way let me ask, what exactly is standing in women's way (in western society at least) from going into said sport/career of their choosing? Seems to me like they already have equal opportunity. Maybe if this video is talking about 50 years ago in the west or in less enlightened parts of the world then it has a point. But here in Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, north/west Europe etc. it seems to me like women can go after whatever they want and nobody is going to try to stop them on the basis of having a vagina.

    – when we stand for something, we're unhinged: What? Now you're just making stuff up. Nobody says that. This must have been a late night, coffee-fuelled last minute filler point to pad the run time.

    – when we're too good, there's something wrong with us: Again, what? Seriously Nike are you just fabricating this shit to make women feel stepped-on? Why? When was the last time a female athlete achieved a new record or did something extraordinarily well and received anything but praise and accolades. Jesus. This is my main gripe with this video, it paints this picture of a female-oppressing, women-hating society that just doesn't exist (again, in the west). What's the point?

    – if we get angry, we're hysterical, irrational, crazy: Sometimes anger is justified, or sometimes you may be genuinely acting irrationally, or a bit "crazy" if someone wants to get colloquial with it. Again this applies to men too, so moot point there. As for hysterical, it is true this is a term mainly used to describe women and I'm aware of the history of it being this fake condition that women were 'diagnosed' with back in the day. Personally it's not a term that I use, I do see it as a bit sexist and I'm all for not using it myself, but I can't police other people's speech.

    – a woman running a marathon, boxing, dunking etc. etc. : Ok so again sigh first of all the marathon thing was in 1967. It is shameful that women weren't allowed to compete back then but this is hardly relevant 50 years on. Why don't we make a video empowering left-handed people because we used to beat them for having the devil inside? As for the rest of those "crazy" achievements, yes women have been down-trodden in the past and this has held them back from achievements (sporting or otherwise) that would have come way earlier had they been allowed access to the same opportunities as men. If anyone doesn't understand that and is still surprised when a woman achieves something great or does something extraordinary that hasn't been done before then they are just a bit of a moron. I guess this video is aimed at them. AAAAAAALSO (and finally), saying that something or someone is crazy is not necessarily a bad thing. A male skateboarder achieved the first ever 1260 spin in competition just a few months ago, I'm sure there were plenty of people in the crowd saying 'Woah dude that's craaaaazy!' or 'That guy is crazy!'. So saying something is crazy can actually be used as a compliment because what you did was just that impressive.

So in conclusion, shut the fuck up Nike with your shit-stirring drivel. I see what you're doing and I hope other people see it too.

Now I want to finish just by saying that, I love women! But bullshit is bullshit. And if we're going to work toward a fair society for both genders we have to do it with honesty and facts, not divisive, fabricated BUUUUUUUULL-SHEEEEEEEEEEEEET. Rant over, if you made it to the end, jeez you must have been bored. Go outside and do something.

  28. This is what crazy looks like

  29. such BS, I don't know any man who actually thinks all those claims in the first 0:40, the only time men say women are crazy is when they are acting jealous, overprotective, or getting overly dramatic about what kind of milk we got at the store.
