The G-E-T boys have gone from being in a neck-and-neck battle for the lead in the Coulee Conference. to now enjoying a comfortable two-game lead in the loss column. Red Hawks with a tough nonconference test tonight… . hosting eleven-and-one Altoona. Early on. it was the Chris Thompson show. Check out the steal. and then the basket and foul for the three-point play. Red Hawks up by one. More points off of turnovers. Michael Burt comes up with the loose ball and gets it up ahead to Thompson. Thompson scoring the first ten G-E-T points tonight. Game knotted up at 15 when the Red Hawks make their run. Blake Thiesse finds a soft spot in the zone and knocks down the jumper. Then Thompson hits a wide open Tyler Scherr in the corner who buries the three-pointer. G-E-T goes on a 19-oh run to lead by 17 at the half. And the Red Hawks behind 31 points from Scherr win 75-58. M-V-C action on this Monday. Onalaska at Aquinas. Hilltoppers looking to remain just one game back of first place Central. First half. Onalakska works it inside to Jalen Sample. He spins and finishes on the reverse. Game tied early… Few possesions later. Conley Malone grabs the board. And he goes coast-to-coast for the bucket. Blugolds trail by two… Hilltoppers turn it on after that. Landon Skemp gets the steal. Fumbles it. Jalen Zubich grabs it and just throws it up. And he gets it to go. Onalaska with a 21-12 lead… Onalaska wins 68-56. improving to seven-and-one in the M-V-C. Girls M-V-C. Central invites Holmen. Late first half. Brooklyn Paulson catches and shoots from way down town. She puts it in… Holmen leads 27-23… Central answers. They swing it to Aly La Rue in the Corner. That’s good. Red Raiders trail 29-26 at the half… Second half. Paulson leads the break. Stops and pops for three. Holmen goes up 43-37… Central doesn’t go away. La Rue gets it inside. Turns the corner and finishes the scoop layup plus a foul. But Holmen behind a game-high 25 points from Paulson holds on to win 57-51.
