Bottom of the first inning, Hunter DeSmet hits one to short, he would beat out the double play, One run would score to put Holmen up 2-0. Next batter, Drew Becker. crushes the ball to left. A two run home run to put Holmen up 4-0. In the second inning, Austin Braund pitching well,
Strikes out Trevor Kastenschmidt. Braund strikeous 7 over 4. 12-0 Vikings on opening day. Let’s kick it. Arcadia and Onalaska.. Onalaska with plenty of chances in the first half, Save here from Arcadia. Later in the half, Perry Weidfinds the back of the net for the Hilltoppers to make the score 1-0 Later in the half, this time its Brianna Cochlan scoring to put Onalaska up 2-0. All Hilltoppers today at home. For the first time in three decades – someone other than Steve King is in chagre of Holmen football. Travis Kowalski, a Vikings assistant for the past 8 seasons is hired today head coach. Kowalski was the offensive coordinator last season and he’s taught at Holmen since 2007.
