Joe Buck Opens Up About Hairplug Addiction

Joe Buck Opens Up About Hairplug Addiction

FOX’S JOE BUCK HAS OPENED UP
ABOUT SOMETHING THAT HE DID AN ELECTIVE SURGERY THAT LED TO HIM
DESTROYING OR POSSIBLY DESTROYING HIS CAREER. HE IS A FOX SPORTS BROADCASTER
AND FROM WHAT I HEAR, I AM NOT INTO SPORTS NEWS, HE IS VERY
FAMOUS FOR HIS BROADCASTING. THAT IS CORRECT. HE IS. HE DOES FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL. HE HAD A NUMBER OF HAIR PLUGS
SURGERIES AND APPARENTLY HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN INSECURE ABOUT
HIS HAIRLINE SO AT THE AGE OF 24 HE STARTED GETTING HAIR PLUGS
AND HE GAVE AN INTERVIEW TO SPORTS ILLUSTRATED ABOUT ONE
BOTCHED SURGERY THAT ALMOST DESTROYED HIS CAREER. LET ME GIVE YOU THE DETAILS. HE SAYS BROADCASTING IS A
BRUTAL, OFTEN UNFAIR BUSINESS WERE LOOKS ARE VALUED MORE THAN
SCALE. I WAS WORRIED THAT IF I LOST MY
HAIR, I WOULD LOSE MY JOB. OKAY, THAT’S BULL SHIP. IT WAS VANITY TOP VANITY. I JUST TOLD MYSELF I WAS DOING
IT FOR TV. I WANT TO STOP FOR A 2ND. I THINK YOU ARE DOING IT FOR
VANITY, ABSOLUTELY, BUT I THINK THAT THE PRESSURE OF
LOOKING GOOD ON CAMERA ALSO PLAYED A ROLE. DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF. IT ABSOLUTELY PLAYS A ROLE. DON’T THINK IT PLAYS A ROLE IN
THIS COMPANY TO BE HONEST WITH YOU. I’VE NEVER FELT LIKE IF I DON’T
LOOK HOT, I AM GOING TO GET FIRED. WELL, IT CLEARLY DOES NOT
PLAY A ROLE IN THIS COMPANY. HOW HOT YOU ARE OR NOT. I LOVE THIS STORY FOR A COUPLE
OF REASONS INCLUDING HIS OVER-THE-TOP FRANKNESS. ON THE ISSUE OF WHETHER IT MAKES
A DIFFERENCE OR NOT AND HOW I THINK IT WAS PROMOTED THAT TELLS
THE REST OF IT. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED REPORTS ON
THE BOTCHED SURGERY THAT LIMIT GIVE THE DETAILS. THEY WERE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THE
START OF THE 2011 BASEBALL SEASON, BUT UNDERWENT HIS EIGHTH
HAIR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE. BUT SOMETHING WENT WRONG DURING
THE SIX HOUR PLUS PROCEDURE. WHEN HE WOKE UP FROM THE
ANESTHETIC, BUT COULD NOT SPEAK. HE BELIEVED HIS VOCAL CORD WAS
PARALYZED BECAUSE OF A COUGH THE SURGERY CENTER USED TO PROTECT
HIM DURING THE PROCEDURE. HE WOKE UP AND HE COULDN’T
SPEAK. THAT IS OBVIOUSLY REALLY
IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE BROADCASTER SO HE HAD TO TAKE A VERY LONG
BREAK FROM FOX AND HE MADE EXCUSES FOR IT BUT IN REALITY,
HE FELL ALL OF THE SHAME AND EMBARRASSMENT THAT HE DID AN
ELECTIVE PROCEDURE THAT LED TO HIM POSSIBLY LOSING HIS VOICE
FOREVER. I LOVE THIS STORY BECAUSE OF
HOW HONESTY IS BEING NOW. HE SAYS LOOK, YOU NOTE I WAS
DOING? I WAS LYING. YOU CAN PRETTY AND UP AND A LOT
OF OTHER WAYS BUT I WAS LYING BECAUSE I WAS PRETENDING IT WAS
A VIRUS AND IT WASN’T THAT I WAS ADDICTED TO THIS THING AND I
WAS DOING IT FOR MY OWN VANITY. THAT’S THE BEST APOLOGY I’VE
EVER HEARD THAT HE DIDN’T HAVE TO APOLOGIZE, JUST ABOUT HIS
LIFE. HE CAME OUT AND DID IT. NORMALLY THEY WILL DO THIS AND
THEY CERTAINLY WANT TO IT AS GOOD, AFTER THEY GET CAUGHT. HERE IS JOE BUCK SAYING NO,
RAISING HIS HAND, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. I TOTALLY RESPECT HIM FOR THIS. AND I THINK YOU ARE PROBABLY
RIGHT. I THINK IF HE LOST ALL OF HIS
HAIR AT THE AGE OF 24, WHAT HE HAD GONE TO WHERE HE IS TODAY
AND TV? HE IS A GREAT VOICE, OF COURSE ALL FORCE SPORTS BAND
WILL ARGUE IS EVERY SPORTS FAN IS LIKE I KNOW MORE. I AM KIND OF GUILTY OF THAT TOO. JUST WITH SPORTS? WOULD HE HAVE MADE IF HE WAS
BALD? MAYBE BUT MAYBE NOT THAT HOW MANY BALD MEN DO YOU SEE
ON CAMERA? TERRY BRADSHAW BUT HE IS TO
BE A STAR QUARTERBACK AND HE’S OLDER SO IS OKAY TO BE BALD. WHEN YOU ARE COMING UP, THERE IS
A TON OF PRESSURE. I TOLD YOU MAN, BE CAREFUL WITH
PROSTIC SURGERY. I AM NOT AGAINST THEM. I GET WHY PEOPLE WANT TO DO
THEM. BUT YOU KEEP ROLLING THAT DIES
AND YOU DO EIGHT TIMES AND AT SOME POINT, YOU ARE GOING TO RUN
INTO TROUBLE. HOW MANY STORIES HAVE WE DONE
ABOUT PLASTIC SURGERY. SOMETIMES IT’LL GO WRONG ON THE
FIRST TRY BUT NINE OUT OF 10 TIMES, THE 17TH TIME I GOT THE
SURGERY, THE FOURTH TIME I GOT THE SURGERY YEAH, BECAUSE THESE
ARE SERIOUS SURGERIES. THEY PUT YOU UNDER, THEY CUT YOU
UP. YOU KEEP TAKING THOSE CHANCES
AND YOU ARE PLAYING WITH YOUR LIFE. HIS VOCAL CORDS IN THIS CASE. YOU ARE SAYING I SHOULDN’T
DO’S CHEEKBONE IMPLANTS. KNOW. I’M KIDDING. I DON’T WANT CHEAP BONE
IMPLANTS. I KNEW A GUY WHO THOUGHT
ABOUT SHAVING HIS HIPS. WHAT? A GUIDE. WHY? BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE NEEDED
TO LOOK THINNER. I WAS LIKE DUDE YOU’RE GOING TO
GAIN SO MUCH WEIGHT LATER ANYWAY. SHAVING YOUR HIPS? ARE YOU NUTS? THAT IS THE MOST AMAZING
THING I’VE EVER HEARD. HOW MANY STORIES HAVE WE DONE
ABOUT THE BUT IN PLANTS AND THEN THEY INJECT CONCRETE IN
THERE INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO ANNEXING YOU KNOW
YOU ARE IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE. YOU ALWAYS TAKE A RISK WHEN
YOU GO UNDER THE KNIFE. I’M NOT GOING TO DEMONIZE OR
CRITICIZE ANYONE WHO CHOOSES TO CHANGE SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO MAKE THEM FEEL
BETTER. OBVIOUSLY I DID THAT MYSELF BUT
YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY CAREFUL AND YOU ARE RIGHT, FOR SOME
PEOPLE IT TURNS INTO AN ADDICTION. YOU HAVE ONE GOOD POSITIVE
EXPERIENCE AND YOU THINK OKAY, WHAT ELSE CAN I CHANGE? DON’T THINK LIKE THAT. I LIKE YOUR LIMIT. I THINK IT’S A TWO PLASTIC
SURGERY LIMIT. BE CAREFUL. UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE PUTTING
YOUR BODY THROUGH A LOT AND YOU ARE RISKING A LOT BECOMING
UNDER. AT THE END OF THE DAY, A LOT
OF CREDIT TO JOE BUCK TO COME OUT AND SAY SOMETHING THAT IS
PERSONALLY EMBARRASSING THAT THEY ALWAYS SAY THAT OTHERS CAN
LEARN. IN THIS CASE OTHERS ACTUALLY
MIGHT LEARN FROM IT AND SAY HEY, MAYBE I SHOULDN’T GET SO
HUNG UP MY VANITIES I COULD HAVE MUCH BIGGER CONSEQUENCES
AND MAKE THING WORSE, NOT BETTER FOR MYSELF.

  1. Anesthetic is always dangerous. I'll admit that I've looked into hair transplant surgery (decided against it, who care's I'll look badass bald), and all of the information I've seen about them show them using local anesthetic. It seems like he could have done it with a local instead of general and avoided this whole thing.

  2. I don't know how many sport fans are posting but Buck has been notorious for his unenthusiastic walk off home run calls.

  3. This is sad. I'm a 4th year resident doctor in an ACGME general surgery training program and I've gotten several generous offers to train to be a "hair transplant surgeon" despite it being medically inadvisable in academic circles. A lot of people have great results, but there are risks. Personally – why risk it over something so minor as balding? Have a balding spot and own it.

  4. Being able to speak is pretty important to anybody. I lost my voice due to a drug i was taking for about 4 days…and i was freaking out, panic

  5. This channel is brought to you and paid for by $hillary Fraudham Clinton, George Soros, and Saudi Arabia. All united to support radical Islam.

  6. They never mention his father was a famous broadcaster that's how he got into it, of course they wouldnt know that

  7. Ana had plastic surgery, how awkward must this story have been when Cenk went in on a tear on how vein people are who get plastic surgery hahaha

  8. I'm so sorry, but I laughed when Ana said if she doesn't look hot she is going to get fired, I'm sorry but I looked at Cenk and thought, as long as he looks the same Ana is definitely safe. I don't agree with judging on looks though, so I'm sorry, but it did make me laugh. I love that most people on this show look very unique, and not the same as every other reporter out there.

  9. Joe Buck would not have issues with his career, which is why he is being honest. His dad is the legend/the myth/the man-Jack Buck…who was pretty bald himself.

  10. Phewww all that showed up was "Joe buck opens up about" I was all like Noooooooo childhood was about to be ruined, but he opened up about hair plugs

  11. Joe Buck is such an asshole! i remember when he said Randy Moss miming mooning the Green Bay Packers fans, was the most obscene thing he had ever seen. What a dick, i hope he never works again on TV. Goodbye asshole!

  12. Joe Buck may not have been a national broadcaster, but he would have still been able to get a job in St. Louis, as he's the son of legendary St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster, Jack Buck.

  13. Hair loss is one thing but it's even crazier when it happens in your early twenties ( or earlier) it particularly sucks. Being Bald isn't so bad late 30's onwards. I started losing my hair at 19 and I would have been pretty much completely bald at 24 if I didn't intervene and take some stuff.

  14. Community school graduate Ana thinks she has a media job with ivy league graduate Cenk because of her brains. No one believes that.

  15. a friend of mine who is not insecure about his hair loss say's his bald head is due to too many u-turns under the sheets…

  16. Do you need a full head of hair to be a cowboy-themed hustler?

I’m definitely getting some work done when I can afford it. I promise to be careful, though.

  17. I've seen some botched circumcisions and it wasn't there own choice in the matter. Anytime there is surgery there are chances that it can grow wrong.

  18. You've got to be very careful about who you go to. People do get addicted and that's why there needs to be a safety rail in the form of responsible doctors.

  19. It plays a role on the Young Turks, the dumb as rocks Hannah had to be hired based on something and it certainly wasn't intelligence or journalistic acumen.

  20. Addicted to hairplugs? Talk about first-world problems …
Luckily, I've only had to have one operation in my 46 years (and it wasn't cosmetic surgery). And the release-form I had to sign so they could put me under was one of the scariest things I've ever read. Anyone who undergoes that kind of stuff repeatedly for vanity's sake should probably get psychological treatment rather than surgery.
Yeah… getting hairplugs is probably not on the same level as having invasive surgery, but it still involves general anesthesia – which is a pretty serious deal for you body. Oh, and to anyone who's considering plastic surgery: Go and watch some videos of the procedure you're planning to get. Watching a liposuction is especially "fun". 😉

  21. I started losing my hair when I was 18. I was devastated. If I could have afforded surgery, I would have gotten it, now I'm 25 though I still have a lot of hair, but I've stopped caring. You get used to it. It isn't worth the stress and money getting it fixed.

  22. "I don't think it plays a roll in this company…"
Ok, I'm calling BULLSHIT! It's beyond obvious that Ana was hired for looks. All of the initial woman at TYT were hired for their looks.

  23. This is coming from someone who weighs around the same as Cenk… Every burger we have is rolling the dice buddy. Stones in glass houses…

  24. It's certainly not a policy of TYT to put only attractive people in front of the camera. Most of the male cast is certainly a testimony to this, but is it just me, or are most the women on TYT quite hot anyways? Just saying. And before I get labeled as some sex-crazed male, I don't just watch, I also listen.

  25. Great points, I understand because vanity is a major issue with men too, especially us metrosexual ones. Although baldness is probably the most severe thing a younger guy could go through (looking 45 in your 20s) there's other things too, like just wanting to come across more soft and effeminate. Joe at the very least, probably wouldn't be treated fairly in the broadcasting business, and it would've sucked for his dating/personal life.
