Hunting & Shooting Sports Management at Montgomery Community College

Hunting & Shooting Sports Management at Montgomery Community College

My name is Dale Erickson, I am enrolled in hunting and
shooting sports management at Montgomery Community College. I
decided that that curriculum would mesh very well
with my gunsmithing major and make me more
marketable as an employee or help me greatly as a soul proprietor in my own gun shop. I plan on using the Shooting Hunting Sports
Management degree to assist me in the gunsmithing field. Working for another company, any business background is going to help you while working for that company. Also, one day if I do decide to open
my own business I’ll have the business background. My experience here at Montgomery Community College has been wonderful. There’s nothing better than coming to college and the faculty knowing your name, knowing who you are, and they’re here to help you. I picked Montgomery Community College because I already live in North Carolina, and also, it’s backed by the NRA for the gunsmithing
sector. What I like about the shooting and Hunting
Sports Management program are the small classes and I’m better able to work with the
instructors because of the small classes. Everyone who instructs in the gunsmithing courses are just amazing with
their knowledge. In just little playing that they can show
you what makes an entire gun click and make
you understand the entire function of the the firearm. The first year we learned the safety of the firearm, the mechanisms, and just basically about how all the firearms work, and learning how to repair and do some minor repairs. We learned a lot about wildlife and how our wildlife around us is going to effect our jobs and about gun shop
management. That was really interesting. I’ve never wanted to say I just wanna have a gun shop. I want to have the best gun shop and I think with this education, I’m well on my way.
