Deion Sanders on Playing Multiple Sports

Deion Sanders on Playing Multiple Sports

[intro music]>>Deion Sanders: I think kids should play
multiple sports for various reasons. I think kids should do what they’re gifted
to do. And I don’t think God just says “Hey man,
you’re just gifted to play baseball.” It don’t work like that. That would be just like an entrepreneur saying
“Only thing you can do is sell a Big Mac at McDonald’s. You can’t sell fries. Just sell the Big Mac.” I don’t understand that.>>Sanders: And then you have the person positioned
at the school saying that “You can only do one thing.” I really don’t understand that concept. I think kids should be all that they can be. Do all the things that you can do. Because statistics have shown when a kid is
engaged in multiple sports, normally their grade point average maintains itself. And usually when you drop off a sport after
that initial season, you tend to, like, slack a little bit. Because the coaches are on your butt during
that particular season. [outro music]
