  1. for any of you who think she was judged unfairly this is how you handle when things don't go your way. she's classy honest and a competitor and this is 80% of the reason why I like her. even though this is not the Hollywood ending she wanted this is definitely how a leading lady reacts! good job Ashley proud of you!

  2. Yes you'd worked hard and yes you deserved to be upset. But everyone else worked hard, too and to undermine their dream and their success by telling everyone the judging was wrong is so, so unfair

  3. Although I would have personally liked to see her be more private about her adverse reactions, I fully understand why she'd be puzzled about her scores at the Nationals this year. I am not saying her PCSs have always been justifiably high, nor am I saying she deserves to go to the Olympics by ANY means–but, if I were a skater and the judges were to suddenly "take away" my PCS advantages, I'd probably have a similar reaction.

  4. I have never cared for her but I thought she did better than the others. She got robbed. It is most likely b/c she can't keep her mouth shut about "sensitive" issues. And that DOES count.

  5. Don’t know why Ashley’s complaining about Americans are not going to medal this year anyways Russia and Japan are looking really strong

  6. If it wasn't for Ashley Wagner's and Karen Chen's placement at Worlds this past year we would not have 3 spots at the Olympics so I have to say Ashley has done a lot for US Figure Skating.
I am a figure skating coach and all girls at my rink look up to Ashley and want to be like her. Also my brother use to trained with Ashley and said she was always supper nice to everyone at the rink I have also meet her and the sass is real Ashley is not going to change and I don't think she should she is a great skater and performer.

  7. Have you ever heard of good sportsmanship, Ashley? You keep your mouth shut and congratulate the skaters going to the Olympics. You had your shot in Sochi. You took Mirai Nagasu's spot there; I'm thrilled Mirai is going to Pyeongchang and you're staying home.

  8. It's stranger to see all u ppl on here defending her what's she wining about nt being selected this time around, she took a girl spot 4 years ago now she wants to complain cause they didn't pick her this time around? Girl bye the girls that are on the team earn their spot. I find white America so funny, even though its nt the sane sport. gabby Douglas got criticism for nt only coming back by actually being good and could av won a model second time around bt due to 2 per country she couldn't compete. white American was all-over her with their racist selves bt now u want to make excuses for this girl? when clearly she's acting like an entitle princess!!!

  9. The Judges were absolutely right… Ashley Wagner is not Olympic material. She was outskated. She cheated someone of their moment to the Sochi Olympics. It doesn't feel so good when it happens to you. She Sucked.

  10. And I can't stand SORE LOSERS… She lost to much more technical skaters and that's that. And now, she's too old for the 2022 olympics.. BOO HOO!!!

  11. She talks about working her whole life to go to the Olympics. Well she got a chance last time over a qualifying skater. So I am not sympathetic to her. Her reaction was as last time. Me. Me. Me. Brandi needs to work on her artistry and these ladies will come home with medals.

  12. I bet she is not the only skater who ever felt "heartbroken" but the others didn''t do such things like this…. they didn't go on social media and complain about how they do.

  13. Lmao so does pc mean something different bc this situation has nothing to do with political correctness 😂😂 like yeah she has the right to feel whatever way she wants but like don’t use this situation to sit here and b*tch about political correctness

  14. I feel bad for her.. Shes such a driven and fighter soul. She did extremely well.. I just wished she have had a better opportunity to shine..

  15. I love Ashley Wagner. She's confident, proud, strong on the ice. She is full of emotion in her skating, but I feel something off of her. She's confident, but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of nervousness. From a performance standpoint, it can really help even

  16. I think we've all been in that headspace before. When something you've dreamed of has slipped through your fingers, it's natural to feel upset. People who are saying she's being a bad sport, well that's not really true because she is very supportive of the other Team USA skaters and she congratulates them. I think she is just surprised she didn't meet her PB score.

  17. She's already been to the olympics and it was Mirai Nagasu 4 years ago who was LEFT OUT and felt probably the same way Ashley's feeling now…

  18. If she is first alternate, does she actually go to Pyongcheng, in the event something happens there and she needs to replace someone?

  19. NBC has announced that Katie Couric will host the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. No doubt Katie would sympathize with illegal alien Dreamers and their so called plight, yet she will take a few dollars to wax poetic on the wonders of South Korea and its culture while ignoring the fact that the country has over 40,000 restaurants and venues that serve dog meat rendered from a horrific 2 billion dollar a year dog meat trade.

  20. Wow didn't know today teamed up with TMZ. This is an incredibly disrespectful interview of a past olympic athlete. What are you guys a gossip collumn

  21. The reporter tries so hard to get a bad response from Ashley lol but she handled it well with class and said all the right things

  22. Maybe if she had not been wasting her time doing ice shows and commercials and naked photoshoot she would have been much more prepared than she was and would not need to be blaming the judges for her lack of preparation. All the other girls worked hard for this and she did not

  23. I understand where she's coming from.  She said she agrees with the technical score, but not the components, and I would have to agree.  I thought her presentation was really good here..she skated with a lot of joy.  And I don't think she was rewarded for it.  That being said, that 3rd spot was a toss-up between Karen and Ashley.  And I don't blame them for choosing Karen, but I could also see why Ashley would be a little upset.  Karen definitely earned that 3rd spot though, fair and square.  The past couple of years, she proved herself, and she did the best out of all US ladies at last year's worlds.  Not only that, but it wouldn't be fair to send Ashley to the Olympics a 2nd time, when she finished 4th AGAIN.  She already had that gift when Mirai got screwed in 2014.

  24. 1000% I stand behind everything Ashley has said, and she definitely was crazy underscored a TON. Really wanted her to go to Olympics.

  26. I am really unhappy about Ashley not competing, I love her! She's different from the other skaters, and that makes her such a special person. She's modern, she's fierce, she's a dancer and she's an athelete. She has much more power and energy, she's not one of those others ballettdolls (eventhough I also love those classi figure skating women) , and I appreciate that.

  27. NBC will get rid of Matt Lauer for chasing a few skirts, but they support the horrific slaughter of dogs by broadcasting the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics in South Korea. How can NBC glorify South Korea during these Olympics when their culture includes eating dogs? Worse yet they are tortured, hung slowly by the neck and burned alive. Over 20,000 restaurants in South Korea serve dog meat, and that just the restaurants! Boycott the winter Olympics starting February 9th. Get off the fence! Have the nerve to watch this one video and that will do it for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta6tovRyzPQ

  28. I don't think she said anything that she should have to apologize for. She didn't trash the other skaters, she just said her own scores should have been higher. I wish athletes were allowed to go off in private and react however they want without cameras following them around and reporters demanding interviews.

  29. Her performance was so so beautiful and well skated. She should be proud. She was certainly good enough to go to the Olympics. She should be proud.

  30. Every four year skaters get heart broken. Mirai was four years ago. She didn't make a big fuss over it. That probably what made Mirai better this time around. It's sport.

  31. In 2014 she was unfairly shoved in the Olympic team with the best skaters and her terrible skating in the team event dragged everyone else down from silver to bronze. She thinks she can trick the judges by acting happy at the end of her performances.

  32. see i respect her feelings, because she has a right to feel the way she wants to. i just don’t like how she feels entitled that way because she’s a ‘senior.’ you’re allowed to feel things because you’re a person !! you’re not entitled to a spot just because you have for experience (not exactly how i want to put it that’s a little harsh). there are going to be younger skaters who will be exceeding you, and you can’t help that. just because you don’t have spot doesn’t mean you didn’t do amazing.

  33. Oh Ashley . I just saw your comment of Russian girl Alina Zagitova and now I know why you weren’t on Pyunchang Olympics . You have a dirty mouth and very jealous , for that you get what you got !

  34. Still cannot decide what she has less, class or skating skills. This time she did not still anyones spot. She has to say thank you to the committee that did not pick her, they saved her from the embarrassment of taking last place at the Olympics.

  35. I imagine anyone would be upset…and ones who are saying crap about her most likely haven’t worked very very hard for a very very long time for something they wanted very very bad and been extremely disappointed! Don’t judge when you haven’t a clue! She has every right to be upset, devastated and question her scores! She is a human!

  36. Is she expected to say sorry for being upset or disappointed? Are women not allowed to feel emotion or are we just expected to be sweet and complicit?

  37. Oh come on…she was 4th last olympic selection(2014) yet she was still picked Instead of Marai nagasu who had a higher placement . Now its Marai’s time to shine.

  38. Everyone is complementing Wagner on her honesty. But this girls a poor sport. Let us all reflect on the 2014 Nationals when she Came in 4th place and took Mirai Nagasu's 3rd place Olympic QUALIFYING finish for the Sochi Olympics. Let's all reflect on how MIRAI did her interview. Cause if anyone had a right to complain about the judges or the Olympic committee's decision to send a lackluster 4th place none qualifying skater to the Olympics; Mirai would have had every right to. But she didn't, she was graceful and did no media tours like this poor sport. As a matter of fact, Mirai never had an interview, she only made a classy statement to the media complimenting the judges decision. But no, not Wagner, shes keeping it ALL THE WAY REAL THO……Like a "Real" poor sport. This girl is average, and it's shown in her work and her performances. You were average then, and you're average now. Now we see MIRAI Nagasu tearing it up at the Olympics. Landing triple Axles (The Third Woman; and second American after Tonya Harding to land a triple axle) and most likely will win Gold. So, be gracious Wagner; something you don't know how to be, and let these ladies have their day, like they let you have your "fraudulent" day
    #BeHumble #SITDOWN

  39. Savannah Guthrie asks the dumbest questions. How in the world did she land the Today show gig? “I sense a little regret…” umm no. At no point was there any sense of regret in any way Ashley was presenting herself. It’s almost like she prepared that question before the interview and still went with it. So amateur.

  40. She was selected in 2014 when she was not as good as another junior skater, she did not complain then. Now it's reversal of role, she was edged out by another skater, and is a sore loser. It is all fair game.

  41. https://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Sports/2014/0112/Olympic-figure-skating-controversy-Ashley-Wagner-makes-team-despite-falls

Above is a link to the 2014 Sochi Team selection controversy that many didn't know about Wagner. She scored lower than Mirai Nagasu but was selected over Mirai for Sochi, 8 points lower due to falls, it was unfair then but did she complain? Now that it is the reversed, and she simply did not qualify, fair and square, and she complained with a straight face…

  42. It's simple, US Olympic FS has moved on. The sport has changed and her style is the old school. The Russian style has taken over and the judges for this event made a statement to international skating teams.

  43. She lost, bye Felicia. Wah, wah, wah. "I'm Ashley Wagner now send me to the Olympics" Not this time honey, you're a loser. Hello? 4th place, no medal? I don't call that winning. It's called losing. She just gets by waiting for the BETTER skaters to make a mistake so she could move up. Not this time. Bye, bye loser.

  44. Ashley Wagner emblematizes the weakness of the American system, which tends to be nostalgic and rewards past wins.  The Russians do so much better because you're only as good as the moment.

  45. Ugh🙄 Everyone saying how “amazingly brave she is” but she’s honestly a terrible sport. Had a coach that used to skate at the same rink as her and says stories of how unsportsmanlike she is. Mirai Nigasu deserves this spot more than her and Mirai also deserves it more in 2014

  46. Что же ты не смогла в двух программах откатать чисто? Кто тебе мешал? 22 года она шла к олимпийским играм, в ответственный момент провалилась и теперь жалуется на разбитое сердце. Неудачница.

  47. Weell…because she said what she said about Zagitova most of those who read about this on our local news portal think that she is dumb and jealous.
Also, I remember how we were surprised in childhood during Olympics when American athletes were jumping gladly after flopped performances. She seems like one of those. I think she knew beforehand that she had chances only in case of her opponents falls. I guess they were still better.

  48. She has never been attractive on the ice. No grace, too many phony facial expressions. Look at Lipnitskaya for example, reason she owned her audience and had such size on ice because of her grace, and also being reserved and mysterious. She's mesmerizing. Wagner, please close your mouth. Whining is annoying.

  49. Bravo, Ashley. Well said.
I wonder how the judges have been able to sleep during night after purposefully keeping away Ashley form the Olympic team.
Ashley's respect towards other girls is amazing and she has a golden heart indeed. Seems to me, that what people do not like is that Ashley is… too American.

And, yes, where was Mirai Nagasu when she needed to stop all the unfair attacks on the Ashley during Sochi Olympics?? No word from her to stop them. Unforgivable.

  50. Maybe she had off day I think she work so hard all her life it would be upsetting too anyone too get low marks I was never was good at sports hope she competes again

  51. So they left off the only woman who had an individual medal at a world championship for three who weren't medal contenders? I think they should have looked at everyone's body of work again.

  52. Nope just another liberal who got a rude awaking. Maybe she should concentrate on skating instead of running her mouth. She will never be an Olympic skater. Stay in the kitchen and cook

  53. She should have concentrated on her figure skating rather than her political grand standing and Bashing President Trump – Serves you right you leftist ignorant america hating little spoiled witch ! Ooops Karma and your Trump Derangement Syndrome kicked your azz.

  54. Oh my goodness. Poor wittle Ashley. Couldn't bump someone else this time. Think Marai Nagasu ye olde queen of the makeup case. Poor sport much? Marai said nothing if I remember correctly.
