Morris: We’ve been together now
18 months. They know exactly
what we expect, they know how
we train, they know what our
standard is. There’s
no doubt in my mind that this team is more at full
capacity than we were a year
ago. And you would
expect that.

IT SURE DOES SEEM THAT WAY.. FROM WHAT WE’VE SEEN IN JUST TWO
DAYS OF CAMP AND IN TALKING WITH
COACHES, THIS TEAM DOES SEEM
LIKE A MORE COHESIVE UNIT… CALL IT BUYING IN.. OR CALL IT
JU
BEING MORE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR COACHING STAFF BECAUSE OF
TIME… EITHER WAY–THE GUYS
SEEM READY TO GO.. AND WE GOT A
CHANCE TO CHAT WITH SOME OF THEM
TODAY… INCLUDING THE TWO
FRONTRUNNERS FOR QB 1 … MITCH ROBERTS HAS MORE ON THE
QUARTERBACK COMPETITON FROM
PLAYER MEDIA DAY…

Well, Jourdan. The big story of
Fall camp will
certainly be at the QB position. Two transfer QB’s have joined
the Hogs. You’ve got Ben Hicks
the transfer out of SMU and Nick
Starkel from Texas A&M. Coach
Morris won’t say who’s
got the lead, but he does expect to have a starter
named long before the season
opener. There’
only one football. He can only
send one guy out
there with the 1s. Hicks: I think just take care of
the ball, be a good
leader, and put this team in the
best position to win
games. Whoever does that should
be the quarterback and will be the
quarterback. Starkel: Whatever
route we have to take. If we
have to take
four streets down that way,
whether that means starting a left tackle at
quarterback if that means we’re
on our mission to go win an SEC
Championship, win a national championship. That’s kinda how
we’ve all been here–best player
is
gonna play to put us in the best
position to win so
that’s just really been the competition so far. MR:
Coach Morris says that KJ
Jefferson–the
freshman from Mississippi–and
John
Stephen Jones have also looked good in practice,
but the money is on either
Starkel or Hicks in game 1. Fall
Camp should decided who that
starter should be. MR 4029 Sports.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BALL.. SOSA
AGIM RETURNING FOR HIS SENIOR
SEASON … AND NOW IN THE ROLE OF TACKLE
FULL TIME.. WHICH SHOULD HELP
HIM WHEN IT COMES
TIME FOR NFL SCOUTS TO COME
THROUGH… AND HELP THE TEAM WITH SOME
CONSISTENCY ON THE LINE.

Agim: Nobody’s playing two
positions. Last year I was
playing two posiitons. You
giving people uncertainty but now everybody who’s at their
position should be playing that
position when the
season comes. It’s good to have
a baseline of what
you’re doing this season.

MUCH MORE FROM FALL CAMP DAY TWO
AND PLAYER MEDIA DAY TONIGHT AT
9 AND 10… INCLUDING SCOOTA
HARRIS’ LEADERSHIP… HOW HE SAYS HIS
ACTIONS
SPEAK LOUDER THAN HIS WORDS… BACK
AFTER THE BREAK
